Core Responsibilities Overseeing grant life cycles– from application to reporting, the development associate willgather materials, format them, and will be part of the engine that keeps our relationshipswith our funders moving forward.Maintaining a grant opportunity list and helping our executive director curate new fundingsourcesBroadening our current development portfolio— from identifying the potential for existing grantexpansion to plumbing new funding opportunities, the associate will support the ExecutiveDirector in cultivating and stewarding funding relationships and advise on and identifyopportunities for more funding.The Development Associate will report to the executive director and is responsible for thefollowing: ALABAMA VALUES PROGRESSWE’RE ON THE LOOK-OUT FOR: We AreAlabama Values Progress (501c4) media advocacy organization that uses the power of media, visualstorytelling, and culture to amplify pro-democracy voices, values, and policies. Our goal is to provide messaging andcommunications leadership and infrastructure to organizations and coalitions advocating to build powerand break down barriers to civic participation for marginalized communities across the state.PART-TIME DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATEE-mailing the Executive Director or senior staff members seeking project updates for grant workMeeting with the executive director to debrief a funder meeting they just finished to document themeeting and identify possibilities for fundingFormatting and proofreading a grant report written by a staff member, and checking to make sureit has all its expected component partsDeveloping a sponsorship pitch deck for upcoming event underwritingExperience in grant writing and working with mid/large non-profit funders are bothplusses but are not requirements.
